Niger State have arrested three persons over cattle rustling at Kabilla
village in the state.
In a press release over the weekend by the assistant director, Army Public Relations, Captain Agwu Njideka, a total of 97 cows and 41 sheep were recovered during the operation.
The statement disclosed that some of the rustlers ran away on sighting the soldiers, but Abubakar Hassan, and two other suspected notorious men who allegedly bought the cattle at a giveaway price were arrested at Kabila village.
According to the statement, the cattle were taken to Zazzaga by the commanding officer, 313 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col Adamu Yari Yakubu.
“I want to categorically state that the brigade under the leadership of Brigadier-General Baba Mohammed Ibrahim will not condone any form of banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping, rape or any form of criminality in the area of responsibility,” the statement said.
It added further that anyone with useful information that would help in the arrest of criminals should not hesitate to come forward.
