Man, 25 Infects A 12-Year-Old Girl With HIV After Raping Her For Four Years

A 12-year old victim who resides in Jahi district, Abuja with her parents has tested HIV positive after she confessed that her 25-year-old half brother, Abdullahi Mohammed and his friends
have been repeatedly raping her for the past four years.

The victim's mother had divorced when she was just born and she has been living with her father in a two-bedroom public apartment in Jahi district, Abuja. According to the victim, her half brother started raping her when she was 8 years old and threatens to kill her, each time he rapes her, if she told their father.

The Victim said Abdullahi raped her every night and brought along his friends, especially one named Ahmed to rape her. She couldn't tell anyone because she was afraid of the threat of being killed.

It was during the holidays when the girl was falling sick repeatedly that her father took her to the hospital and was diagnosed with HIV. The father then sought to know how she contacted the virus and that was when the girl opened up.

The father reported the case to the police and Abdullahi and his friends were apprehended. But when the two were tested for HIV, the results came out negative, bringing confusion on how the victim got infected.

There were speculations that the girl had contacted the HIV from her mother, being the reason the mother was sent away by her father.
