Prostitute Arrested For Allegedly Pouring Gasoline On Her Daughter and Setting Her On Fire

A prostitute was arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly pouring gasoline on her young daughter and setting her on fire, police in California said.

The Sacramento Police Department said that they have arrested 27-year-old Porche Wright for felony child abuse and attempted murder of her 7-year-old daughter.

On Saturday around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to Wright's residence, which is located in the 600 block of El Camino Avenue, for a report of child abuse.

Police were notified after a friend of the suspect arrived at the home and noticed the child's injuries. When officers arrived, they discovered the 7-year-old girl with serious burns.

The young girl was rushed to a hospital by Sacramento Fire Paramedics, who immediately administered medical treatment for burns.

The victim is currently being treated at a hospital for severe injuries, and is expected to survive. It is believed that the child's injuries are consistent with a flammable liquid that was placed on the victim and set on fire.

Wright was taken into custody at the scene, and later questioned at police headquarters. She was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, on charges of attempted murder and endangering the life or health of a child.

At neighbor told police that the mother set the child on fire, by pouring gasoline on her and lighting a match next to her body. Wright has been arrested in the past for prostitution and domestic violence.
