Mother Burns Son’s Hand For Playing With Her iPad

A mother was arrested and ordered to stay away from her son after she burned his hand.

The mother of Florida, burned her 7-year-old son’s hand on a stove as punishment for playing with her iPad, police said.


31-year-old Angelina Garcia was arrested on Wednesday, after she was accused of abusing her son in her home in Pembroke Park, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.

Police said that the boy grabbed his mother’s iPad so he can play a game. Garcia told him that if he kept playing with her iPad, she would burn his hand, according to the arrest report.

When her son did not listen to her, Garcia acted on her threat and forced the boy’s hand on the hot stove, deputies said.

A doctor reported the abuse after he spotted three burns on his left wrist and forearm.

Garcia was charged with child abuse and is being held on $10,000 bond. The boy is in the custody of a family member and Garcia was ordered to have no contact with him.
