S.A: 3 suspects appeared for nun's murder

The matter involving the alleged rape and murder of a Roman Catholic nun in an Ixopo convent had been postponed to May 6, the National Prosecuting Authority said on Wednesday.
The accused appeared at the Ixopo Magistrate's Court on Wednesday afternoon, said national spokesperson Velekhaya Mgobhozi.

"The accused are in custody," he said.
Gertrud Tiefeba, 86, a nun at Sacred Heart Convent was found dead in her room last weekend.
It was reported that she was allegedly overpowered by the accused who bound her with a typewriter cord and suffocated her with a towel.

The accused were arrested several days later following raids at several locations in the Shayamoya informal settlement.
At the time, police said the suspects were found in possession of some items belonging to the slain nun.
