A
suspected thief this week was set ablaze around Petroleum
down, a suburb of Dansoman in Accra, Ghana after he went to rob a certain man in
his house alongside his partner. An eyewitness said thief was caught in the
process, and instead of the people who caught him to handle him over to the
police, they allowed people to gather around them, beat him to a pulp and blue, hung a
tyre around his neck, then set him ablaze. His partner was lucky, as he escaped been caught by the irritated mob, but he wasn’t.
A resident also confirmed this to Ghana’s Citi FM saying;
"They were actually two in number who attempted
stealing from a man’s residence as he was having his bath. The man whose age I
can’t tell, was lynched by the residents and lit up while the other
escaped."
