At least 3
persons were on Thursday evening burnt to death in an accident that occurred at
Ugbokun village, along the Benin-Lagos expressway.
It
was gathered that the victims of the accident included the driver of the
vehicle and two female passengers.
Eye
witness account disclosed that the 18-seat commercial, bus marked WWD 624 XA,
was heading for Port Harcourt when it had a head-on collision with a lorry
conveying wood to Edo State and burst into flames.
Sikuru
Olawale, one the rescuers, said one of the victims was his sister, adding that
the driver of the lorry had an argument with some persons and and in fist of
anger, hit the commercial bus.
He
said all efforts to put out the fire and rescue the trapped victims failed as
the fire engulfed the bus.
