Mother Arrested For Beating Her Daughter's Teacher To Near Death Inside Her Classroom

A mother stormed into a school and beat her daughter’s teacher.

Annika McKenzie, 34, of New York, and her teenage niece, were arrested after choking, punching and kicking a teacher unconscious inside a high school in Hempstead, Long Island, authorities said.

McKenzie allegedly ambushed the math teacher at the Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School after claiming that the teacher put his hands on her 12-year-old daughter.

McKenzie walked past a security checkpoint and waited for Catherine Engelhardt to leave her classroom.

When the 22-year veteran came out of her classroom, McKenzie shoved her to a wall and placed her in a headlock.

The teacher fell to the floor and students began kicking her while she was unconscious.

The entire incident was captured on school surveillance video.

McKenzie’s 14-year-old niece was among the group of students who kicked the teacher. She was also arrested.
McKenzie was charged with second-degree assault and strangulation. Her bail was set at $5,000.

Her niece, who was not identified, was charged as a juvenile.

Engelhardt was treated at an area hospital before being released.
