Gunmen
believed to be thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have
attacked Lagos state Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa,
injuring at least one person as at the time of this report.

A
source close to the incident told PM News that the gunmen who were on
rampage in Agege, first attacked Agege Local Government where council
staff were holding a vigil ahead of the presidential election.
The
source said shortly after that, they allegedly attacked the Independent
National Electoral Commission’s office in Agege. The source could not
confirm if electoral materials were carted away.

The
gunmen who were riding in a grey bus then proceeded to Opeifa’s home in
Agege, shooting sporadically at his house and the cars in and around
his house. “One person was injured in the shooting but has not been
taken to the hospital for fear that the gunmen might be lurking,” the
source said.
The source claimed that the group of gunmen were led
by Oyeniyi Raheem, a House of Representatives candidate contesting on
the platform of the PDP
