According to reports by the Vanguard, an 11
year old boy, Terkula Botwer committed suicide by hanging himself on a
tree, at Achusa village, in Makurdi Local Government area of Benue state.
The
young boy took his own life over threats of being returned to his
parent, by his guardian Mrs Nadoo Hember for stealing her only N200 on a
Saturday morning.
On Sunday, before leaving for church, Mrs Nadoo Hember allegedly warned Terkula that if the money was not found, she would
be forced to return him back to his parents in the village.
Unfortunately,
when
she returned, she discovered that the boy was not in the house and was
no where to be found. But after a frantic search, the
lifeless body of the boy was seen hanging on a tree at the back of the
house.
She soon raised alarm and that attracted neighbours who gathered to rescue the boy who was already dead.
The body of the boy has since been recovered and deposited at the Markurdi Federal Medical Centre by Police
officers while investigations persists.
