For
our newbies, the KFB foodie talk column - handled by Dobby of Dobbysignature - is basically for ladies and
'guys' that are interested in learning how to cook better ;).
Today, we are discussing how to make Grilled fish at home.
P.S: Remember, the heat/ fire from most grills including the conventional ones come from the top of the oven and not below.
• Cook Time: 10-14 mins
• Makes: 1 grilled fish
Step 2: Mix all the ingredients including the vegetable oil together in a small bowl. Place the fish on a foil paper and brush the mixed ingredients all over the fish. Once you're done coating the fish with the ingredients, cover and leave the fish to marinate in the refrigerator for 30mins - 1hr.
Step 3: Place the fish in a preheated grill. Grill for about 5-7 mins on each side till it flakes a little when touched. If you want a moist fish, it's best to leave the foil closed before placing the fish in the pre-heated grill. That way the fish would retain most of the moisture and nutrients. Serve Hot!
Homemade grilled
fish is probably one of my all time favorite things to make. This is
because it's really tasty, easy to make and O yes! i get to save a whole
lot of money doing it myself. Grilling is a healthy way of cooking
fish. To retain the nutrients & flavor in the fish, it's best to
grill it in a foil packet. All you have to do is to wrap it with an
aluminium foil and cook on the grill.
This
method combines the freshness of steaming with the intense flavor that
grilling method gives. Fish is low in fat and calories, yet provides a
good source of omega-3 fatty acids. Chances are, people who eat fish
tend to have a healthier heart than those who eat meat especially red
meat. For this recipe, i used croaker fish but you can use any fish you
choose to. Also, some of the spices used are optional so you can play
with any spice you have available according to your taste.
