Photo---Male Teacher Caught Forcefully Pushing a Female Student Into Swimming Pool

Teacher Denny Peterson of the Stockton Unified School District has been put on one month’s paid leave after video emerged of her dragging a female student into a pool. The unnamed student claims that she didn’t want to get into the pool because she had just had her hair done. Peterson is facing a charge of corporal injury to a child.


Peterson’s misdemeanor charge will deal with the question of how much authority the teacher would have to punish a child in this equation. Stockton attorney Gilber Somera who is representing the family of the girl said “No means no and stop means stop. This isn’t a situation where she’s attacking a teacher and he’s defending himself. When a woman or a 14-year-old girl says no, it means no.”
